2023 was the biggest year of growth we’ve ever had at Relevant across the board. Our church grew by 14% overall, our average Sunday gathering attendance grew by 11%, the number of people engaged in a T-Life Group grew by 23%, the number of people serving on a team grew by 11%, the number of people who served at one of our Community or Global Impact opportunities grew by 11%, and, finally, we had the largest Be Rich offering in our history, exceeding the previous year by over $35,000. Since the start of 2020 we’ve more than doubled in size as a church, growing by over 1,200 people in 4 years!

We’re not just passionate about impacting the next generation, we’re FANATICS about impacting the next generation for Jesus. In 2023, we reached more kids and students than ever before. We had a combined average attendance of 462 kids/students in our four Next Gen ministries’ environments: Sprouts, Relevant Kids, Rooted, and Youth United. That’s a 22% increase from the previous year. Overall, 872 kids/students are engaged in a small group with a leader who is investing in them and their relationship with Jesus. But what’s most exciting is that 153 kids/students put their faith in Jesus in 2023 and 89 publicly proclaimed their faith by being baptized!

Relevant is relentless about reaching people who don’t have a relationship with Jesus, and seeing their eternities and lives transformed by Jesus. It’s why our vision for 2020-2030 as a church is “Cast the Nets”. In 2023, more people indicated that they put their faith in Jesus (241) and more people were baptized at Relevant (117) than ever before! That means that since the beginning of 2020, 706 PEOPLE have put their faith in Jesus, asking Him to be the forgiver of their sins and the leader of their life! This is due to God doing only what He can do in people’s hearts, but it’s also due to the people of Relevant investing in and inviting people in their lives who don’t know Jesus into Relevant’s environments. Great job reaching people, Relevant!

Since we launched Relevant in 2009, we have always been committed to impacting the Elkhorn community and making sure they know we are FOR them, and so is God. One of our focuses in the community is Elkhorn school adoption. When we adopt a school, we intentionally invest in the school and find ways to bless them. Our vision is to adopt every school in Elkhorn. At the beginning of 2023 we had adopted 4 schools. In 2023 we adopted 5 more schools, bringing our total to 9 adopted schools. These include Elkhorn Middle, Westridge Elementary, Hillrise Elementary, Arbor View Elementary, Manchester Elementary, Blue Sage Elementary, Elkhorn Ridge Middle, Elkhorn High, and Elkhorn North High schools. In 2023, the schools continued to reach out to us when they had needs, whether it’s to provide a safe haven for students when tragedy strikes, or to provide volunteers to help with their student health screenings, or provide a fun, team-building night out for teachers.
