In the fall of 2024, we embarked on a new transformational season in the life of our church. We called this season, “Unfinished”. You can learn more about Unfinished below. Our primary goal with Unfinished was that 100% of our church-kids, students, adults-would engage in seeking God on what He would have us do in regard to our generosity over the next two years. Our secondary goal was to raise $12 million to carry on our mission of transformation, to help fund phase 1 of The Relevant Center’s expansion, and to expand our impact in our community and with the Karen people from Burma. This was always a God-sized goal-something we could not achieve without Him moving powerfully. And He DID move powerfully! 1,016 people made a 2-year Unfinished generosity commitment. 355 of those people had never given at Relevant before. In total, our church committed to give $16.9 million over the next 2 years! $49,000 of that was committed by kids and students. It was an incredible response by our church, and nothing short of a movement of God!

We have a vision to plant 10 churches by 2030, 5 of them in un-reached villages along the Thai/Burma border and within Karen state of Burma. In 2024, we took a huge step towards achieving that goal. We partnered with pastor Mark Joy to help him launch The Grove Church in Perth, Australia. We partnered with pastor Dave Choutka to help him launch Shepherd Church in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2025. Finally, we partnered with pastor Eh Khu of All Nations Baptist Church on the Thailand-Burma border, our first Karen partner church! We partner with these pastors and churches by offering financial and physical support, coaching, resources and prayer.

In April, a massive tornado decimated the neighborhoods around The Relevant Center, and we became command central for relief efforts, thanks to our proximity to the damage and our existing partnership with Omaha Rapid Response. The outpouring of support and donations from our community was incredible. In the first week, over 13,000 volunteers were dispatched, and tens of thousands of supplies were picked up from The Relevant Center. By the end of June, we had distributed over $156,000 to over 50 affected families. The disaster gave Relevant an opportunity to truly show our community that we are FOR Elkhorn.
